Bumble and Bumble Has a Lock on Tousled Hair

When I popped into the salon for a bang trim last week, Alis, my stylist/miracle worker, introduced me to it. She called it her favorite product from the Bumble and Bumble line.

Designed for all hair types, it’s a thick, flexible hold styling creme for lived-in, tousled, messily undone looks, and this is neat - it dries to a matte finish (kinda different!).

I didn't think I needed another hair styling product in my life, but I’m glad I found this one. I've been using it for about a week to tame my bangs and lift my roots at the crown, and damn - I love it.

Right away I liked the light, beach scent, but I was a little unsure about the texture. It’s thick AND sticky. When it dries, though, it doesn't feel sticky at all, and it leaves my hair touchable soft with flexible hold.

Now, this isn't one of those products you can just throw on and go; you do have to jump through a few hoops to help it reach its potential.

The first hoop, Alis says, is to use it on damp hair. The slippery wet strands help distribute the product more evenly. Alis likes to go a step further by applying a spray-on conditioner first, like Bumble & Bumble Prep or Tonic ($18 each). I prefer Tonic, which is Bumble’s “heavier” spray conditioner, on my thick, course hair.

Next, squeeze a small amount of Texture into your palm (I use an amount about the size of a quarter), and distribute and thin it by rubbing both hands together. Now, really work the product into your hair, trying to coat the strands. It may even help to use a comb along with your fingers and hands.

I concentrate on my bangs and the roots in my crown area, but you can also concentrate on the ends, too, like the demonstration in this Bumble styling video.

Alis recommends using a blow dryer to get more volume and better hold than air drying alone, and I agree.
When I use it on my bangs and crown, I get some great height, and my bangs don’t stick out in crazy directions.

Oh, and if I skip washing my hair for a few days after, I can reactivate the product with a spritz of Bumble and Bumble Tonic. Just hit it with the hair dryer, tousle and you’re ready to strike a pose.

The product does contain dimethicone, in case you’re trying to avoid silicone, but it is listed about half way down the ingredient list. I try to steer clear of silicone styling products because some tend to weigh down my hair, but I like this so much that I’m willing to take that chance. Thank goodness for clarifying shampoos.

Sedu Hairstyles for Celebrity

Sedu Hairstyles for Celebrity

Sedu hairstyling is the healthiest hairstyle for your hair and is extremely popular among many celebrities. Many of these celebrities have made this kind of styling the latest must have look, the one to be seen wearing.

This type of styling looks good on everyone, plus there are many styles to choose from. Whether you have long, medium or short hair, sedu styling will work for you.

At one time these styles were only available in the salon but the release of the sedu hair straightener to the general public has made this look affordable. And now with all the sedu celebrity hairstyles to look at for inspiration, you will almost definitely find a hairstyle you like.

Sedu hair styles are created using a sedu hair straightener, which is patented and uniquely designed using ceramic plates that are made of special tourmaline crystals.

They create heat that is evenly distributed throughout the iron, producing styles that are almost impossible to achieve as with other hair straighteners on the market. These crystals combine with a negative ionic charge in order to remove all the static from within the hair.

This hairstyling tool prevents the continued usage of strong chemicals which might (In some cases) damage the hair. The end result is an extremely soft, silky, super straight sedu hairstyle that will not only last longer but will look and feel much better than most others. It is no surprise why this is fast becoming the hair straightener of choice for top stylists and professionals alike.

Sedu Hair Styling Important Notes:

  • Dry your hair completely before using your sedu iron to prevent any damage and lack of effectiveness.
  • Ensure your hair is clean prior to use.
  • Use the heat control wisely as over heating can damage your hair.
  • Partition the hair into manageable sections to ensure fully balanced heat coverage of the iron.

Layering up

If your hair is long and feels like it's just hanging there, consider getting some layers cut in to give it some life. Layers work particularly well if your hair is straight or slightly wavy, and if your hair's curly they'll give your hairstyle some extra movement.

Long layered hairstyle

If it wasn't for the layers in her hair, Candice Swanepoel would be ugly.

Essentially, layering the hair involves cutting it at different lengths throughout the hairstyle, giving it shape and the illusion of fullness. It's a very flattering style, particularly if you get shorter pieces cut at the front to frame your face.

Once you've decided that layers are for you, ask your hairdresser for light layering around your face, with longer layers at the back. Then, next time you go for a trim, get them again.

From then on, ask him or her for regular trims with no layers - your hair should be well shaped by then and you don't need to keep cutting them in. If your hairdresser knows what you want then you won't end up losing too much length.

Long story short? Layers are ideal for those who like their long hair, but want a change. Consider them a low maintenance way of bringing new life to your overall style.

Finding an Adorable Wedding Hairstyle

Every woman dreams of looking like a goddess or beauty queen on her wedding day. The good news is that you can indeed achieve the look that you want with the right wedding gown, accessories, make-up and hair style. And when it comes to your hair, there are many different styles you can choose from.

If you don't know what style to get, keep in mind a very wise and effective tip: simple is best. Don't try to overdo your hair. Keeping the style simple can often bring out the best results.

It probably goes without saying that different styles are appropriate for different lengths of hair. Short-haired women tend to have fewer options while long-haired ones typically have many.

The classic wedding hairstyle is to pull your hair back in a clean bun or chignon, but there are a lot of variations of this style that you can choose from.

The best way to discover all of your options is simply to do some research online. Search Google for terms like “wedding hairstyle” and check out the top-10 results. The old adage that one picture is worth 1,000 words is definitely true, so look specifically for sites with pictures or even how-to videos. Print out the hairstyle photos you like best for reference.

Because there are so many variations from which you can choose, it is usually a good idea to try out several variations of your favorite hairstyles a few days before your wedding so you can decide which one you like the best. The only way to really be confident you select the best hairstyle is by looking at yourself in the mirror while wearing each style.

If your wedding is still far off and you want to wear a chignon or bun but have short hair, start preparing your hair and getting treatments that will make your hair grow longer and faster. If you don't have enough time, you can use hair extensions to achieve this look. If you have short hair and don't want to use extensions, you can just wear your hair down and adorn it with jewels or flowers.

One final piece of advice: when choosing your ideal hair style, don't forget to consider the venue of the ceremony. For example, if you are going to have a beach wedding, remember that you may have to battle it out with strong winds so it's better to have a secured updo and avoid letting your hair down.

Otherwise, in this situation, you run the risk of untamed and frizzy hair. Similarly, if you are getting married in hot and humid weather, then it may be best to sport a hairstyle that is up off your shoulders to allow some airflow at the base of your head to help keep you cool.

In conclusion, your wedding is one of those precious moments in your life that you will remember forever, and it is also a day that will be memorialized in photos for future generations to see.

Therefore it pays to make sure you look as stunningly beautiful as you possibly can; make it special by choosing the right bridal hairstyle.
